Special Carving Tips
Choose a pumpkin that is the same shape as the design you wish to carve. Decide if it should be tall and narrow, or more rounded. It should be as smooth as possible, and free of scratches, dents or gouges.
Carving Techniques

Don't try to cut a perfectly round top. Chances are, you won't be able to figure out where it lines up, and it will probably just fall in! Instead, draw a six-sided lid (hexagon) on top of your pumpkin.
